End-to-end encryption
All mesh traffic uses WireGuard encryption between your devices. The coordination server only handles key exchange — it never sees your packets.

We do not log what you send through the mesh. Connection metadata is rotated every 30 days.

Questions
What is a mesh network?
A mesh network connects your devices directly to each other, rather than routing everything through a central server. Your MacBook can reach your iPhone over an encrypted tunnel, regardless of what Wi-Fi network either is on. Think of it as your own private network that follows you everywhere.
How is this different from a VPN?
A traditional VPN routes all your traffic through a single server. Oaken Mesh creates direct, encrypted connections between your own devices. You can optionally route internet traffic through managed exit nodes (like a VPN), but the core product is the device-to-device mesh.
Is my traffic encrypted?
Yes. All mesh traffic between your devices uses WireGuard encryption. The packets are encrypted end-to-end — our coordination server handles key exchange but never sees your data. Even we cannot read your mesh traffic.
What is an exit node?
An exit node routes your internet traffic through a server in a location you choose. On the Free plan you can use any device on your own mesh as an exit node. Paid plans include managed exit nodes — servers we run in 30+ regions worldwide, so you always have a reliable, fast exit point even when none of your own devices are available.
How does annual billing work?
Annual plans are billed once per year and save you 25% compared to monthly. The per-month price shown reflects the annual total divided by 12. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time from your account settings.
Will it work on non-Apple devices?
Not yet. Oaken Mesh currently supports macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. We may add support for other platforms in the future, but our focus right now is making the Apple experience excellent.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You keep mesh networking for all your devices. Managed exit nodes stop working, but your mesh stays connected.
